SFT translation working conditions survey

Interesting report just out from the Société française des traducteurs, with lots of facts and figures on translators' working conditions, rates, gender distribution, income, etc. We read that that 65% of the more than 1,000 respondents to the survey translate between 200 and 400 words an hour, that they earn between 16,000 and 90,000 euro a year, that 77% of the translators are women, and many fascinating other factoids. It's good to see really systematic data gathering by a translators' organisation - let's hope other associations follow suit.
