Interesting
report just out from the
Société française des traducteurs, with lots of facts and figures on translators' working conditions, rates, gender distribution, income, etc. We read that that 65% of the more than 1,000 respondents to the survey translate between 200 and 400 words an hour, that they earn between 16,000 and 90,000 euro a year, that 77% of the translators are women, and many fascinating other factoids. Please note that the report is in French.
It's good to see really systematic data gathering by a translators' organisation - let's hope other associations follow suit.
